Care for growing smiles

A gentler approach to the dental visit.

From building healthy habits to treating a cavity, Dr. Katie will talk with you about your child's options and comfort. The right approach depends on their dental needs, health history, and how they feel about treatment.

  1. Solea laser dentistry

Less worry about the numbing needle.

Our Solea laser offers an alternative to the traditional dental drill for suitable treatments. Many cavity procedures can be completed without a numbing injection, which may help children who feel nervous about needles.

  2. Comfort options

Nitrous oxide for a calmer visit.

Nitrous oxide, often called laughing gas, is mixed with oxygen and breathed through a small mask over the nose. It can help reduce anxiety while your child stays awake and able to communicate with the dental team.

  3. Cavity care

    Silver diamine fluoride.

Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a liquid applied to selected cavities to help stop decay from progressing. For suitable teeth, it can offer a minimally invasive way to manage decay without drilling during the application.

Healthy habits at home

Small routines, healthier smiles.

Consistent daily care helps protect baby teeth and permanent teeth alike. Our team can demonstrate brushing and flossing and help you choose a routine that works for your family.

  1. Brush twice a day

Use a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. For children younger than 3, use a rice-grain-sized smear; ages 3–6, use a pea-sized amount. Supervise brushing and encourage your child to spit out toothpaste.

  2. Help with the hard-to-reach spots

Help your child brush thoroughly until they can do it well on their own. Begin flossing once neighboring teeth touch.

  3. Choose tooth-friendly routines

Offer water between meals and limit frequent sugary snacks and drinks. Ask us about a dental visit schedule based on your child's needs.
