Solea technology
Laser Dentistry
A different tool for selected dental procedures, with comfort options discussed around your individual care.
A different approach
A laser option for suitable procedures.

Solea is an all-tissue dental laser used at Reuther Family Dental. For some procedures, it can offer an alternative to the conventional drill and may reduce or remove the need for a numbing injection.
Every tooth and procedure is different. Dr. Katie will explain whether laser treatment is appropriate for your needs and what comfort measures may be part of the plan.
The technology
A focused tool for teeth and gums.
Solea uses a specific laser wavelength for dental procedures involving hard or soft tissue. The team selects a treatment method based on the area being treated, the procedure, and your health needs.
The goal is to use the tool that fits the procedure—not to use the laser for every situation.
Comfort options
Talk through numbing before treatment.
Some suitable procedures may be completed without a numbing injection. Other situations may still call for local anesthetic or another approach to help you stay comfortable.
If needles, sounds, or dental treatment make you anxious, let the team know. You can discuss what the laser may change and what it cannot promise for your specific procedure.
Your treatment plan
The right tool depends on the procedure.
Dr. Katie will examine the tooth or tissue, describe the recommended care, and explain whether Solea is a suitable option. If another technique is a better fit, the team will talk through that choice with you.

Questions patients often ask
Does the Solea laser mean I will not need numbing?
Some suitable procedures may not require a numbing injection, but others do. Dr. Katie will explain what is likely to be needed for your treatment.
Can the laser be used for every dental procedure?
No. The right tool depends on the procedure and your individual needs. The team will confirm whether the laser is appropriate.
Can children be considered for laser dentistry?
Solea can be used for patients of different ages when the procedure is suitable. Dr. Katie will discuss your child's needs and comfort options with you.
